CTM SEnergy Project Stage I

Centro de Transportes de Madrid (CTM) promoted and established the “Comunidad Energética CTM”, aimed at achieving shared self-consumption among more than 100 businesses operating within this logistics centre in Madrid, which has an intensive demand of power.

The SEnergy I project has recently been awarded by the “Instituto de Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía” within the first call of the “CE Implementa” Programme to promote the establishment and start-up of Energy Communities within the “Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia, financiado por la Unión Europea – Next Generation”, as well as supported by the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid.

Current status: Licences and construction

The installation of the photovoltaic modules for the project was successfully finished this week at the facilities of the “Centro de Transportes de Madrid”, along with twelve 60 kW inverters, thus achieving the planned total power of 786.6 kWp.

The project enters its last phase jointly with UFD, in which the technical conditions for the connection point to the medium-voltage grid are being worked out.

We would like to highlight the professionalism of all those involved in the CTM SEnergy I project from the very beginning and we would also like to thank all of them for the positive impact that the project will have on energy and environmental terms both for the city and the Community of Madrid.

The CTM SEnergy I project was selected in the first call of the CE Implementa Programme. In accordance with the image manual of this call, the project’s display panel has been set up today.

The photovoltaic module installation stage is planned to begin as soon as possible, in order to contribute to the decarbonisation of this transport hub in the city of Madrid.

The installation of the electric vehicle charging points was finished last week. Three Floox electric vehicle charging units were selected for this purpose.

The Superfloox model selected has a simultaneous charging capacity for two vehicles on DC, and is therefore suitable for semi-fast charging on the facilities of the CTM logistic hub.

The facility is currently awaiting its interconnection to the distribution network, moment in which the recharging points will be commissioned, thereby starting their activity.

During this first stage of the SEnergy project, “Comunidad Energética CTM” will implement two different areas of activity:

Electrical renewable energies

A co-planar photovoltaic system with a 720kW power capacity will be installed on the roof

Sustainable mobility

Commissioning of 3 semi-fast 50 kW electric vehicle charging points for public use, contributing to the development of sustainable mobility in Madrid

The SynerHy team cooperated in all the preliminary analysis tasks, production and consumption analysis, looking for different solutions, technological partners and tax partnerships between the partners of the “Comunidad Enerégtica CTM” jointly to TGS Edisa, amongst other activities. The project is currently at the engineering phase, prior to construction and start-up, which is under the management of CTM and SynerHy.

One of the benefits of implementing the SEnergy I project is to successfully demonstrate to its partners and to society an innovative way to collaborate in production, management and self-consumption of renewable energy, as well as providing a model to scale this solution to cover the whole CTM’s area of influence and to other industrial hubs.
