PRIMA Project Conceptual Engineering

The PRIMA Platform, developed by the Fundació Institut d’Investigació en Energia de Catalunya (IREC), is a pioneer infrastructure aimed at testing and demonstrating energy technologies within real-world environments. Based in Gurb (Barcelona), the PP1 pilot plant focuses on the production, storage, compression and distribution of hydrogen, establishing itself as a key project in the energy transition towards a decarbonised economy. PP1 is designed to cover all areas of the hydrogen value chain, encouraging innovative solutions to generate and use this energy vector.

SynerHy was the company commissioned to carry out the conceptual engineering, including:

  • Revision and verification of the plant’s functional diagram
  • Process engineering for the pilot plant
  • P&ID diagram for each subsystem of the pilot plant
  • Preliminary safety study for the pilot plant
  • Implementation plant and general layout
  • Dimensioning and characteristics of main and auxiliary equipment
